The county seat is Huntingdon. Opened in 2013, the Carroll County 1000 Acre Recreation Lake, the largest man-made lake in western Tennessee with over 22 miles of shoreline and 300 new acres of wetlands is located on Hwy. 70 approximately 4.9 miles from red light at intersection of Hwy. 70 and the Bypass in Huntingdon. This beautiful lake provides good fishing, picnic areas and shady wooded places to hike. Operated by the TWRA of Tennessee it features a concrete boat ramp and minimal launch fees and low cost daily fishing permits. The fresh water flowing in from Clear Creek creates a perfect habitat for bream, bass, crappie and catfish.

In addition if you love outdoor adventure, especially whitewater rafting, you have to try the Ocoee River, home to the 1996 Summer Olympics. You'll find it in Polk County! Enjoy!
